And color and variety? Hm, I can see your dilemma because I also used to be a pencil addict, haha! I guess what worked for me, is to trust yourself? Remember that it’s only a sketchbook and things don’t have to be perfect. Honestly, my sketchbook is filled with mistakes and screw ups! And thats ok! Just trust that whatever you draw is gonna turn out awesome! And even if it you don’t think it does, change it into a happy accident.
Tbh, practice makes perfect! the more you experiment with tools, the better and more confident you’ll be! Over all just have fun with different materials. Try to draw with anything you own. Crayola markers, chalk, coffee… I colored a tree in macaroni cheese. Legit, try anything.
